“Shine!” features a mix of blues, ballads, and acoustic rock songs, netted from the stream of consciousness and springing from a wide variety of influences including Carlos Ocasio (“Ain’t Done Leavin’ Yet”), Bow Thayer (“Be With You”),  Jerry Garcia (“Old Country Songs”), James Brown (“Shine!”) and James Taylor (“Open Arms”).
